In my opinion, this semester's Chinese 102 class seemed more easy-going but quite as effective as last semester's Chinese 101 since most of the students were already accustomed to Tseng lao shi's teaching style and class structure. Personally I think the class was more interesting than last semester's since our grammar became more complex and there were more vocabulary characters at our disposal. Our oral performances were longer and had a good flow to it. Sentences began having a different approach as to always using "wo shi, wo you, wo xiang, wo, wo, wo," I would have liked to have more time in class to practice speaking all together interactively rather than waiting for the teacher to be called upon. Additionally, the class could have been more active by maybe inviting some guests such as international students from china to spend some time with us talking in Chinese. One thing that could have been very useful would be an inviting student from other sections to a gathering so we could get to know them using Chinese. Overall I think the class was good, our teacher is great and we improved our Chinese fairly well. |
