Pang had retired at his ancestral hometown Xiang Yang. The words said that "That descendant of the dragon has returned to our pond." 惠帝即位時兒童謠襄陽耆舊記 丙火沒地。 哀哉秋蘭。 歸刑街郵。 終為人歎。 A children's song predicting the death of an emperor and the improper burial of an empress. 荊州民為胡烈歌襄陽耆舊記 美哉明后。俊哲惟嶷。陶廣乾坤。 周孔是則。我武播暢。威振遐域。 A song sung by people of Jing Zhou praising their official Hu Lie. 武陵人為黃氏兄弟諺襄陽耆舊記逸文 天有冬夏。 人有二黃。 Just as there are both summer and winter, there are the two Huang brothers who are totally different. The older one is a good official and younger one is corrupt. 洛陽人為祝良歌長沙耆舊傳 天久不雨。蒸人失所。天王自出。 祝令特苦。精符感應。滂沱下雨。 A song sung by people of Luo Yang commemorating their mayor for being able to call for rain when they needed it badly. 時人為虞授諺長沙耆舊記逸文 不讀經。 視虞生。 If one does not read Yi Jing ( Yi Scripture), one should see Yu Shou who is never tired of talking about Yi Jing. 會稽民為張霸語益都耆舊傳 城上烏。哺父母。府中諸吏皆孝友。 Words said by people of Gui Ji about their county mayor Zhang Ba who eliminated crimes by educating the people. 益都鄉里為柳宗語益都耆舊傳 得黃金一笥。不如柳伯騫所識。 Getting a box of gold is not as good as having Liu Buo Qian recognize one's talent and give one a position. 益都民為王忳謠益都耆舊傳逸文 信哉少林世無偶。 飛被走馬與鬼語。 A song sung by people of Yi Zhou concerning two good things Wang Sha Lin did. One was his burial of a stranger who died. The other one was his being able to talk to ghosts to solve a criminal case. 人為高慎語陳留耆舊傳逸文 嶷然不語。 名高孝甫。 Gao Xiao Fu is quite a quiet person. 六縣吏人為爰珍歌陳留耆舊傳逸文 我有田疇。爰父殖置。我有子弟。爰父教誨。 A song sung by people of Liu county praising their official Xuan Zhen for being able to manage agriculture well and being able to educate the people in order to eliminate crimes. 筠州人為李公衢語宜春傳信錄 輸租不使錢。 賴有李屯田。 Words said by people of Yun Zhou praising their deputy mayor Li Gong Qu for being able to stop the corruption of tax officials. |
