INTRODUCTION

Chinese is perhaps one of the most challenging classes that I have taken at the
University. I have never spoken an Asian language, let alone one that is tonal.
This makes the class a little more challenging for me than for some of my
classmates who speak Cantonese. As hard as the class is to me, I still love to
go everyday. I am really interested in most of what is being taught in class. I
think that this class will definitely be of great help in the future, because I
wish to visit China.

My Most Excellent Work

1.	Lesson 4- Hobbies
2.	Lesson 2- Family
3.	Lesson 7- Studying Chinese

I ranked the three passages mainly on how much I liked writing them. It is very
hard to write passages well in Chinese due to the very few sentence structures
that we know how to use in Chinese 101. For all three passages, I made up the
information to fit my rather limited vocabulary. I enjoyed writing the Lesson 4
\passage because I feel that I could have really had that conversation with a
friend who speaks Mandarin. My next selection is Lesson 2, due to its factual
content that is lacking in the other passages. I chose the final passage because
I dream that I could one day do in the real world what I do in the passage.
