INTRODUCTION

How hard can a 100-level class be? When I first signed up for Chinese 101,
my guess was that it would not be that hard. After the first few days of
class however, I felt challenged by the pronunciation and tone marks. I
thought that I would never be able to pronounce the tones correctly and
felt frustrated at times, but with perseverance and continuous effort, I
got through it. Tseng laoshi is a great teacher and is very supportive.
And now as we approach the end of the semester, I am proud of what I have
achieved in this class. This course is demanding but definitely worth
taking. I recommend anyone to take it.

My Most Excellent Work

1.	Lesson 8- School Life
2.	Lesson 5- Visiting Friends
3.	Lesson 1- Greetings

I have ranked Lesson 8 first because after a few months of Chinese class,
I am now able to write longer sentences in my essay. Lesson 5 was the
most challenging to me because it was the first time that I had to write
and essay instead of the usually dialogue. Lesson 1 reminds me of the
first time we had to create a dialogue with our knowledge of only about
20 Chinese words and we did a pretty good job with it.
