INTRODUCTION

Taking Chinese 101 this semester has really given me the right start
in a foreign language. I enjoy learning the new language and I also
enjoy working on it. The work is interesting in that we learn stories,
translate dialogue between two people, write our own Chinese stories,
and even hold our own conversations in Chinese. Tseng laoshi is very
energetic and enthusiastic about our success in the class. She is
always helpful and willing to answer any questions we may have. She
comments on our work to ensure the highest degree of quality because
that is what she expects. This class has been as rewarding to me as
it has been entertaining.

My Most Excellent Work

1.	Lesson 5- Visiting Friends
2.	Lesson 8- School Life
3.	Lesson 1- Greetings

These passages are ranked by quality and content. My passage for Lesson
5 was very interesting to me. This is because I thoroughly enjoy
visiting my buddies and especially the ones that I do not see for long
periods of time. I had a fun time writing the passage and I also had a
good time reading it to the class to make them laugh. Lesson 8 related
to me in many ways. Because of this, I enjoyed reading the dialogues
and writing my own passage about school life. I am a student right now,
so why should I not be interested in this? The quality of my work for
Lesson 1 was by far the best. However, the overall enjoyment of the
lesson was not that great. This is because the lesson’s theme was not
as interesting as the others. Doing well on this lesson prepared me for
the upcoming ones which were much more difficult. I am glad I was able
to learn the basic conversation terms used in greeting one another.
