INTRODUCTION

Learning Chinese takes a lot of hard work and dedication. I knew coming into the class
that it was going to be unlike the romance languages I had taken before, but I was
totally unprepared for the pace that we were going to be going. I think the trick to
learning Chinese is not to fall behind. Once you fall behind, it’s very, very tough to
catch up. This semester, I have put a lot of effort into making sure the lessons don’t
run me over. I really like having such a small class I think it’s important not only
for having more one-on-one conversation and practice, but you actually get to know the
people in your class. They’re not just specks in an anonymous crowd. The people I
have met in Chinese class have become some of my good friends.

My Most Excellent Work: 1) Dating 2) Travel 3) Renting an Apartment

I chose these three dialogues because they were the most fun and the most creative
dialogues I have done this semester. I ranked Lesson 17 first because I always have to
laugh when I read it. The other two are pretty much interchangeable as second and third.
