INTRODUCTION

Although I found this introductory Chinese course to be quite challenging, I also thought 
that it was very interesting.  In particular, I enjoyed the opportunity to explore my 
creative side in synthesizing my own dialogues, narratives, and short sketches.  In addition 
to learning basic language skills, I was also immersed in Chinese culture as well.  
Furthermore, I was encouraged to attend various Chinese functions such as ChinaFest, the 
Chinese New Year celebration here at the University, Chinese Student Association (CSA) 
events, and participate in the Language Partner Program.  For all prospective Chinese 
language students, I highly recommend this class, not only because of the high quality of 
instruction, but also because of my wonderful experience in learning this highly practical 
language.  

My Most Excellent Work: 1) Renting an Apartment  2) Dating  3) Seeing a Doctor

I chose Renting an Apartment because it illustrates the amount of Chinese language that I 
have learned and it reflects my personality.  I chose Dating because it contains many 
colloquial phrases.  Finally, I chose Seeing a Doctor because I wish to become a doctor and 
found this lesson to be of great importance to me.
