INTRODUCTION

Now that I’ve almost completed CHIN 102, I can look back and see how much I’ve
accomplished. I’ve almost got 200 Chinese characters that I can recall from memory,
and I can recognize many more. I am glad that the class was challenging, because
it pushed us to learn more Chinese. The class was great and definitely worthwhile.
Above all, I think Tseng Laoshi is a great teacher. If I had a choice, I would take
the remainder of my Chinese with her, even if she only taught at 8:00 in the morning.
Thank you Tseng Laoshi for making Chinese so much fun to learn.

My Most Excellent Work: 1) Dining 2) Travel 3) Hometown

I really enjoyed Dining, not because of the quality, but because it was the first
peer dialogue of the semester. I partnered up with Anjie and got to know her better.
She’s a great friend now, and we’ve been dialogue partners ever since. I picked
Travel because I think it was the best dialogue that Anjie and I came up with.
Along with incorporating a lot of the new vocabulary, we got to add some humor at
the end. My third choice was Hometown. Nothing fancy, but it came right from the
heart. I really do miss the river that runs behind my house. Since I’ve been to
college, I haven’t been home very much. Every summer I get a job away from home,
so I really do miss it at times.
