INTRODUCTION

Learning Chinese is probably one of the strangest decisions I've ever made in my
life. When I think back to high school, I know I would have never predicted myself
to be a Chinese language student. For me, the decision to learn Chinese was heavily
influenced by some Chinese friends I made my first year at the University. These
last two semesters have been wonderful in terms of my Chinese class. The class is
rigorous, and only for the serious. It takes many hours of practicing to fully
master this language, something I hope to achieve one day. Since I began to learn
Chinese, many of my future plans at the University have changed. I have decided
that I want to spend one semester in Beijing so that I may fully experience not
only the Chinese language, but also the living Chinese culture.

My Most Excellent Work: 1) Hometown 2) Renting an Apartment 3) Dating

I ranked these dialogues in this order for the following reasons: Hometown first
because it is the most fresh in my mind; Renting an Apartment second because I
really like the unit on finding an apartment; Dating third because I thought my
dialogue was quite humorous.
