INTRODUCTION I have never felt so academically challenged as I have been in CHIN 102. I came into CHIN 102 extremely behind because of my mid-year transfer. I was really apprehensive about taking a class that looked so demanding. Tseng Laoshi told me that if I did all the work she recommended, I would be fine, and I am so glad that I took the class. I do not regret a single minute that I have spent studying Chinese. When I look back and see how far I have come and how much I have learned, I am so amazed. This is one of the best classes I have ever taken, and I recommend this class to everyone that I can. I am also very glad that I worked one on one with a language exchange partner. I feel that it has really helped me, and it has been quite a fun way to learn Chinese. My Most Excellent Work: 1) Renting an Apartment 2) Travel 3) Hometown I feel that “Renting an Apartment” was the first passage where I felt very confident performing in class, and where I started to feel more confident in grammar, and even in pronunciation. I had more of an idea of how things could be said, and in a way that was logical. Tseng Laoshi's husband provided me with a lot of help for this narration, and I think that working with him really gave me a good understanding of what I was trying to say in Chinese. I feel that “Travel” is the only dialogue where I really didn't have any problems with grammar concepts. I think that it shows a lot of what I've learned. It has a good variation of grammar structures, and a decent variety of vocabulary that we have learned throughout this semester. “Travel” really displays how far I have come from the beginning of the semester, and makes me very proud of that progress. My language exchange partner helped me to write “Hometown”, and I think that it really helped me comprehend what I wanted to say. I added some new words that I did not know previously, and I think that my grammar was pretty strong.Self-Introduction: Image File NJ Star File Audio File
