INTRODUCTION

I have really enjoyed Chinese because I have learned so much.  My parents tried teaching 
me before but I never learned a thing.  But in the past two semesters, I have learned 
more than I did from seventeen years of teaching by my parents.  I found learning Chinese 
very interesting, and I plan to keep on learning until I am almost fluent in my ancestral 
language.  I have learned a lot about culture too because growing up, I was basically 
exposed to very little Chinese culture.  My parents had basically given up trying to teach 
me Chinese because I did not know anything at all.  But now they are very pleased at how 
much I’ve learned.  Out of all my classes, I always enjoy going to Chinese.

My Most Excellent Work: 1) Travel  2) Renting an Apartment  3) Dating

I chose “Travel” first because I thought it was very amusing and fun to write.  Also, it 
was basically grammatically correct to start with.  I liked “Renting an Apartment” because 
this one was also grammatically correct to start with, and I thought the content was pretty 
good.  “Dating” was kind of funny too, so I liked that one.
