INTRODUCTION

Taking Chinese was a very rewarding experience. At first Chinese was a little
overwhelming, as it took a long time to adjust to writing (and memorizing) characters,
but after awhile it just became natural. Also, like any language class, there were
weekly quizzes, but the constant pressure helped to reinforce the material. Chinese
does involve a time commitment, and sometimes the material can be a little frustrating,
but it pays off in the long run. Tseng Laoshi was a very good teacher, and I highly
recommend taking her class.

My Most Excellent Work: 1) Sports 2) Renting an Apartment 3) Travel

I picked Sports as my first preference because it was a fluent paragraph including all
of the grammatical points of the lesson. Renting an Apartment was a very flowing
paragraph with sentences that related well to each other. As my third preference,
Travel was an all-around good passage with a lot of vocabulary and grammatical points.
